ABA Antitrust Conference Washington

Professor Dr Doris Hildebrand and Dr Pascal Hildebrand attend the ABA Antitrust Law Spring Meeting 2025 in Washington, D.C.

The American Bar Association (ABA), Antitrust Law Section, held its annual Antitrust Law Spring Meeting at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Washington, D.C., from 2 to 4 April 2025. The conference is considered the world's most important gathering of leading experts in competition law, consumer protection, data and platform economics. Over 3,700 participants from more than 70 countries, including government officials, judges, corporate lawyers, economists and academics, attended this year's conference.

Professor Dr. Dr. Doris Hildebrand, Managing Partner of EE&MC, and Dr. Dr. Pascal Hildebrand, Partner at the firm, took part in the conference. Both contributed their expertise to the discussions on current developments in the economic assessment of market power in digital markets.

The conference focused on global competition issues, the regulation of digital markets and the challenges of algorithmic pricing mechanisms. The plenary sessions and expert panels addressed topics such as ‘Big Tech Enforcement Update’, ‘Competition and AI’, ‘Dynamic Competition and Complexity Economics’ and the future direction of US and European merger control.

Participation of the two EE&MC-partners in this conference highlights the intensive academic and practical exchange between European and US experts. The ABA Antitrust Law Section conference thus remains a central forum for dialogue between lawyers, economists and authorities on the further development of the global competition regime.
